Reason 1: Newcastle is a cool place to visit in winter

Newcastle knows how to create a festive atmosphere. Christmas-related markets, events and festivals are organised and held annually so that people can start indulging in the magical spirit early on. The Elf Express, the Winter Wonderland at the Kielder Water and Forest Park, and the grotto in Grainger Market where Santa Claus waits to meet both good and naughty children, as well as grown-ups are just a few of the Christmassy activities you shouldn’t miss in Newcastle. Additionally, outdoor ice skating rinks and performances are offered so that people can come together. Don’t forget to go to the large Fenwick store and admire their legendary Christmas window.

Reason 2: Newcastle is perfect for summer as well

We meant it when we said that Newcastle is a great place to visit in all seasons. So, when the sun is shining and the weather is nice, there are many great outdoor activities that you can do in Newcastle. The most iconic summer activities are cruises on the River Tyne and visits to the nearby beaches. The latter suggestion is easier if you have hired a car. This way, you can travel to the coastal areas in the vicinity whenever you want and you can stay there for however long you like. Not to mention that you can keep the car and explore the neighbouring cities and villages at peace. Enjoy Travel is the company you need as you will not only get to compare the available hire cars but also book the one you prefer online. The best beaches near Newcastle are Whitburn, Seaburn, King Edward’s Bay and Whitley Bay.

If you love going to museums, galleries and monuments, Newcastle will not disappoint you. There is a plethora of amazing attractions that you should definitely see there. The Newcastle Castle, the Laing Art Gallery, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, the Edwardian Central Arcade and the Living Museum of the North are just a few of the museums and the attractions that you must see in the city.

Reason 4: Wander around stunning streets

Newcastle is a totally instagrammable place. You will fall in love with its impressive buildings that make you travel back in time and create a romantic atmosphere. Grainger Town is a historic area in the city centre that will take your breath away with its classical architecture style. And if you are looking for the perfect place to eat something, Quayside is your answer.
